Way too many times do I see new students, young and older, gripping their bow in a stiff hold, and I know without a doubt - they struggle to produce the sound they are trying to achieve. Unfortunately, in most cases even for the intermediate level students, the attention to the quality of the sound production many times is being "derailed" by constant , on-going struggle with intonation - the "content" of the musical story we are trying to convey. The good news is though - learning to "magnify" and fill one's bow with a beautiful sound - relaxes the left hand and "autocorrects" the intonation as well!
