There was a Violin Hub at the beginning of the last Century in Ukrainian City Odessa. It's leading pedagogue Piotr Stolyarski (through teaching, a great-great-son of Niccolo Paganini) and his disciples created what has become a hotbed of the leading violinists in the world.
I was privileged to study under two of the third-generation descendants of those incredible giants.

Very First Recital
It's hard to describe the joy I feel when I see a new student reach the very first milestone - the very first recital! I will never forget mine - and their bright faces always remind me of that magical moment!
Confidence comes with practice
By the time it's their fourth or fifth recital they feel mature, skilled and wait for this moment with great anticipation.
So proud of them!
I was told once - at the beginning of my teaching carrier - by the very wise master teacher: "Just remember - there is no such thing as the bad student, only bad teacher! Your job - is to unlock their potential no matter how well it's hidden"
